George Cumberland – Farming – Family – Fossils. Speaker K. Jane Evans.
Jane Evans is the former curator of Weston Museum and in retirement has
researched the story of George Cumberland, a 19th century gentleman farmer and
polymath who for a time lived locally. She has recently published her work and will
be bringing copies of her book to the meeting.

The Friends of King John’s Hunting Lodge is an organisation that has been formed
by amalgamating the interests of the Friends of Axbridge and District Museum and
the Axbridge Archaeological and Local History Society. It aims to bring together
people with an interest in the preservation of our heritage.
